We intend a safe nurturing & non-verbal space, free of judgments or instruction; 25 min. warm up music to awaken the body; Welcome Circle sets conscious intentions for the 70 min. ecstatic dance journey enticed by luscious diverse music from around the world; Shake our Groove Things ~ we move any which way, laugh, cry, sweat & release; Circle up for share-back, names & announcements; Closing with blessing for ourselves, our families, our communities, and our worlds.

Ecstatic Dance Houston consists of 3 main facilitators (DJ'shamans), SunShine (Sydney), Morning Glory (Nadine), and Fire Urchin (Bonnie), and an incredible diverse community of loving young hearted souls of All Ages.
We are a Neo-Post-Yogi-Shamanic-Urban-Groove-Tribe ~ Combining our need for Exercise with our need for Spirituality, Connection, Contribution, Acceptance, Creativity, Authenticity, AND, quite frankly, FUN!
We believe in the power of music & dance to transform our planet for the better, creating peace within ourselves, our community and our world!

What is it? Ecstatic Dance (freestyle joyous dancing) offers a Foundation of Freedom for many different evolving experiences. From foot loose & fancy free exercise to quantum level spiritual practice, we believe this diversity creates unity.
Our Goal: is to create a safe loving container for non-verbal creative expression encouraging free form movement for all people of all ages. The music is created fresh for every event and intentionally designed in line with the Bodies Energy System to entice an effortless “fall” into an inward journey leading to a state of Unity!
Guidelines: This movement exploration is a non-verbal, sacred environment where we care for the safety of all present, witness and respect our own boundaries and the boundaries of others, dropping judgment and expectation. We encourage opening to the experience of the moment; physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. NO dance experience necessary –
Our Definition of Dance: Allowing the Body to BE MOVED, to BE DANCED, moving however the bleep it wants to.
What to Expect: Just about anything goes except instruction... This 2 hr. dance consists of a 25 minute warm up, 5-10 minute opening circle welcome & intention, followed by a 60 - 70 minute flow of juicy world music ending in silence and a 10- 15 min closing circle for share-back, announcements and closing.
